I've always thought The Right Stuff was the best of Tom Wolfe's books, and a heckava movie too; Mary Roach's Packing for Mars is the rest - and in some respects the best - of the story. Roach, also author of Stiff, Spook, and Bonk, is my nomination for Tech Writer of the Decade (at least). Her exploration of the human side of space travel is a book not to miss.

It's already on my list. Waiting for my name to come up at the library.... I've read her other books and am looking forward to this one. Funny and interesting writer. Good combination.
