Finally, we…wait, what?

Trump-Supporting bin Laden Niece Tells Followers Election Result 'Will Be Reversed'

Bin Laden has remained a staunch Trump supporter despite the results of the November election, the failure of Trump's longshot litigation to tarnish Biden's victory, and the storming of the U.S. Capitol by a Trump-supporting mob on January 6.

After removing duplicates and alternate spellings, the list emailed to Stars and Stripes included about 380 possible names, from Aces to Zero-gees.

Cute goes off the rails

#CovidKim Trends After Iowa Governor Reynolds Lifts Covid-19 Coronavirus Precautions

Not that there’s anything cute about Covid…it’s just that, apparently trying to be edgy, Bruce here seriously strains his hip (Get it? Hip?).

Nonetheless, Iowa. Really?

What could possibly go wrong?

The zones would permit companies with large areas of land to form governments carrying the same authority as counties, including the ability to impose taxes, form school districts and courts and provide government services.

Has the new Tweet-in-Chief been found?

Marjorie Taylor Greene thanks Democratic ‘morons’ for boosting profile

“I woke up early this morning literally laughing thinking about what a bunch of morons the Democrats (+11) are for giving some one like me free time,” Greene tweeted.

Science, blah blah

Listen, I’m all for healthy interrogation of the status quo, and I know our dizzying information ecosystem can make it hard to tell north from south, but I have to draw the line somewhere.

Spoiler alert: It might be 1,400

The left finds itself in a new place, as an opposition party within a governing party, struggling to figure out when to oppose and when to govern. They’re practiced in opposing, spurred on by grit and grievance. And yet now, with more influence than ever before, they’ll have to learn how to do something new. Governing requires compromise, and after that it requires treating many losses as victories because they produced something good rather than nothing at all.

It’s behind a paywall. But if you don’t want to deal with that, it boils down to this: The D’s are aparently flummoxed over whether a $2,000 promise means $2,000 or $1,400.

How close we came

This week, the military upended years of quasi-democratic rule in Myanmar, with soldiers taking control of the country in a carefully orchestrated coup. Also without fanfare, Chuckles, Connecticut’s official state groundhog, will make a prediction from home: the Lutz Children’s Museum in Manchester. That will also be streamed on Facebook. Chuckles X died in September, and it remains to be seen whether an anointed Chuckles XI will emerge Tuesday.

We can have some pretty nice weather in the summer but…

…this time of year I sometimes wonder why they didn't just turn their ship around and go back to England. Or Holland. Or wherever they came from, those pilgrims. For example:

Multi-Day Nor'easter Bringing Heavy Snow to Region Monday Into Tuesday

Wind will come back from the north Tuesday night, with perhaps icy conditions returning all the way to the southern and eastern coast line. Wednesday is likely a cold gray day before a little sunshine Thursday. Thursday night a warm front will bring a mixture of rain and snow followed by a big warm-up late in the week with heavy rain showers possible as we head toward next weekend.

Translation: Heavy snow early; heavy rain late; ice, everywhere, in between. New England.
