Pro tip for you Dems

Look, it's entertaining to hear all the talk about fighting for this and fighting for that—free public education, universal healthcare, abortion rights, sanity at the southern border, and being nice to everybody—but what I want to hear is one candidate—just one, surely you can manage just one, can't you?—who says…

> I will make the government work again. I will put competent people at the heads of the departments, people who know what to do and want to do it. I will provide the staffing and the budget to do the inspections and enforce the regulations and the laws that Congress has passed at the People's behest. I will fix the bridges, clean up some of the mess we've made, and put the public soul back in place. And maybe invest in a decent spellchecker.

Wouldn't that be grand?

Meanwhile…

All that hot air coming up the coast from Miami is going to push us into the high 80's today and 90 tomorrow.

Thanks, D's.

Robocalls prompted federal and state action 94 times over past nine months - The Washington Post.

We're all fed up with the tens of billions of illegal robocalls [a record number] we get every year," Andrew Smith, director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in a statement.

[Of course we're heading into what must be the longest campaign season ever, which means peak robocall for the next 18 months and not much chance the FTC is going to shut that down, at least for long. But still, what's not to love?]

A modern world

We don't have any musical coffeehouses where I live so I don't have anything to go by here, but Apple Music's "Coffehouse Jazz" playlist sounds sort of like soy elevator music to me.
