“No person can overcome the facts, not even a fraud like yourself. Lend your sexually psychotic ear to the enclosure. You will find yourself and in all your dirt, filth, evil and moronic talk exposed on the record for all time. . . . Listen to yourself, you filthy, abnormal animal. You are on the record.”
That paragraph was just one in a letter sent by FBI operatives to Martin Luther King in an effort to drive him to suicide.
You can read a lot more about it here.
In its ongoing effort to save the American public from evil, FBI agents and (ahem) informants infiltrated the civil rights movement of the 1960s and the anti-(Vietnam) war movement of the ‘70s and, in a spirit of bipartisanship, a raft of right-wing organizations as well. Some say there are still so many FBI agents and informants in the KKK that the entire Klan observes federal holidays.
Now comes the FBI’s selfless effort to prevent the Russians from diddling the 2016 Trump campaign, or to prevent the 2016 Trump campaign, or simply to extend its (the FBI’s) run.
As Faulkner wrote in
Requiem for a Nun, “The past is never dead. It's not even past.”
