Caught in some kind of reality warp

Dodger Stadium’s COVID-19 vaccination site shut down after protesters gather at entrance

“This is a sharing information protest and march against everything COVID, Vaccine, PCR Tests, Lockdowns, Masks, Fauci, Gates, Newsom, China, digital tracking, etc.”

Every winter morning comes a time…

…I can put off no longer. It's the time I check the outdoors temperature on my weather app.

Then I go back to bed. Because blankets.

This morning it was 5º.

Of course it will go higher by this afternoon, maybe as high as 10º.

And I still haven't used my 1000-below coat this year.

The precedent he's really worried about…

GOP Sen. Rob Portman says Trump impeachment trial post-presidency could set a dangerous precedent

…is holding public officials accountable for their actions. Can't let an idea like that out among the rabble.

Government of the people by the guys inside the permanent fence

US Capitol Needs Permanent Fencing, Acting Chief Says

“In light of recent events, I can unequivocally say that vast improvements to the physical security infrastructure must be made to include permanent fencing, and the availability of ready, back-up forces in close proximity to the Capitol,” Pittman said.

I guess they weren't kidding when they started calling the federal section of DC the Green Zone.

US terrorism alert warns of politically motivated violence

The bulletin is an indication that national security officials see a connective thread between different episodes of violence in the last year motivated by anti-government grievances, including over COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 election results and police use of force. The document singles out crimes motivated by racial or ethnic hatred, such as the 2019 rampage targeting Hispanics in El Paso, Texas, as well as the threat posed by extremists motivated by foreign terror groups.

Un-buh-lievable

Time to order some new bank checks. I decide to save myself a trip to the bank and order online.

I rarely write checks and the smallest order available will last me around 6.5 years. The price of the checks is $11+ and the shipping charge is 17+.

Maybe I ought to reconsider.

Can't escape January

TRUMP ALUMS CAN’T BELIEVE NO ONE (RESPECTABLE) WILL HIRE THEM AFTER THAT TINY LITTLE INSURRECTION

It’s just one of those things that marketing and P.R. teams don’t like to have explain to customers and other interested parties, “it” being having someone on payroll who worked for a guy who tried to overthrow the U.S. government.

Sounds a little harsh, maybe?

Zoo offers to name roaches, rats after patrons' ex-lovers

Jan. 25 (UPI) -- A Texas zoo is offering jilted lovers the chance to get some Valentine's Day revenge by naming a cockroach or a rat after their exes before it is fed to a larger animal.

But there appears to be a vegan option.
