What's the point?
Actually there isn't one, other than it's a cool place for tourists to have their picture snapped while getting really soaked. The marker says "Southernmost Point Continental U.S.A. But wait! There is a spot right on Key West that lies further south. It's on military property, though, so I guess it doesn't count. And Key West is an island, so it's not actually in the continental U.S.A. Come to think of it, the Florida Keys aren't even the southernmost islands in the U.S.A. That distinction belongs to the Hawaiian Islands. It's a cool place to take a picture, though...
