Ted Bonde, the president of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association, said ice-fishing competitions in much of the state had been pushed back at least a week as wintertime anglers waited impatiently for the cold to set in.In fact the entire Midwest, the Times informs us, is confounded by unseasonably warm weather so far this winter [winter arrived last week – ED.]. "Ernesto Londoño reported from St. Paul, Minn.…he managed to walk his dog, Hugo, wearing a T-shirt on Christmas Day."
It hit 42ºF in Duluth. Which is about what it was where I am, but I'm not there.
