It is hot in our pleasant valley this week: 95-ish on the widget, not so hot inside but getting there. This is definitely not the time for making soup or anything else that requires turning on the stove. At least not for very long.
It's supposed to cool off a little at week's end and in the meantime, since the entire Eastern Time Zone is more or less baking, we can be pretty sure no dimwitted congresscritter will be bringing snowballs to work, a rare win for reality in D.C.
Meanwhile, it's ideal weather for not working, so there's that.
