PHOENIX—A man from Somerville, Mass., and his friend who went around the country this year removing typographical errors from public signs have been banned from national parks after vandalizing a historic marker at the Grand Canyon.

Well, preemptively banned, since neither one has tried read any thing here as far as I know. But we believe we have to nip this in the bud. Because the last thing we need around here is a grammar freak. (Or, now that you mention it, a cliché freak either.)

Funny you should mention it. I was thinking about defacing a sign this very weekend.
In our favorite boating hangout, Andrews Bay, one is supposed to throw an anchor only in a designated area. Thus, the sign reads "Anchorage" and coincidentally points north.
I am tempted to add "AK, 2403 miles."
Would be fun to see how many boaters would take it literally.
