I often worry about the American education system.My children used polysyllabic words at age 3 or 4.They left school unable to write well. They were still intelligent, but uneducated.
You're right to worry, IMO. Unfortunately, education seems to be one of those things that everybody wants but nobody wants to pay for - assuming, that is, they can even agree on what it is.
