Nikon closes book on six decades of SLR camera history
Nikon in 2018 launched the Z7, a high-performance mirrorless camera designed for photography enthusiasts. It released the top-of-the-line Z9 in 2021. By ending development of SLR cameras, Nikon plans to focus resources on mirrorless models to better compete in the field.
But if you don't want to give up your Kodachrome or Tri-X just yet there'll be Nikon SLRs on the second-hand market for decades to come.
