A 70-Year-Old Whisky To Commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee
The color is a rich, dark gold. On the nose, there is the unmistakable aroma of a Sherry cask matured whisky, featuring golden raisins, dried fig, date and prune notes, along with the typical rancio aromas of furniture wax and old leather that are found in ultra-aged whiskies. There are additional notes of candied orange zest, with hints of dried dark fruit and just a hint of tropical fruit. As the whisky opens up a noticeable aroma of marzipan/almond Roca candy emerges.
