It's tempting to snark a little…

Winter Storm Kenan dumps more than foot of snow in parts of New York City

Most snowfall in the Big Apple was in the 7-10 inch range, such as in Central Park which saw 8.3 inches, according to Accuweather meteorologist Alan Reppert.

…but this much snow in Manhattan is an awesome mess. Because there's no place to put the stuff.

You can't just shovel it up or plow it off.  When I lived there, back (way back) in the day, they laboriously loaded it into trucks and then dumped it in the river. Maybe they've figured out an easier way since them. Still, it can't be easy.

(There is one advantage if you live there: for a little while. traffic drops to just about none.

And in Central Park, of course, you can just let it lie. Then it's…fun.)
