And, to be fair…

Hurricane Ida traps Louisianans, shatters the power grid

…you can't pump gasoline without electricity either. 

There are a lot of other things you can't do too. I, myself, have been in New Orleans right after a major hurricane (Betsy, in September of 1965) and what I remember is…warm beer. Also, in modern hotels you can't open the windows and when the AC goes off in New Orleans, even in September, things can be pretty sticky.

Not so much flooding this time (way to go, Engineers) but plenty of wind damage, it seems. It'll take a long time to clean up.
