NYPD to enforce social distancing on subways: Mayor de Blasio
Police officers will kick riders off the subways and force them to spread out on cars to stop the transmission of coronavirus, Mayor de Blasio said Monday.
…I can't be sure if it still works the same way but when I lived in New York the subway system employed "pushers"—people who worked the platforms during rush hours and literally pushed the last passengers into subway cars so the door could close. "Social distancing" wasn't measured in feet, but in rather small fractions of a inch.
So it's a little difficult to imagine…
