Pep was a mainstay Rotary Club luncheons in small towns all across America, an attribute you might associate with the Main Street of Sinclair Lewis. It was also the name of a breakfast cereal that tasted like cardboard but came with very cool prizes in each box. But by the end of the 60's both the food and the attitude had gone out of style. Or so I thought.
Then, this morning at the grocery store I made a comment about the weather to the kid behind the checkout counter. "Chilly," I said (it was something around 15º).
"But if you walk with pep in your step you'll hardly feel it," he said.
Still there, and good advice.
