I need some flat cheese because I finally solved the puzzle of how to make a decent grilled cheese sandwich with whole wheat bread (Hint: Don't use whole wheat bread).
The best thing about flat cheese (other than sandwichability) is that it's cheap. No, it's not the kind of cheese you want to serve at your next big dinner party but 1) I don't give dinner parties and 2) you could probably roll it up and stuck some toothpicks in it and nobody would know. For making grilled cheese sandwiches, all it has to do is melt.
Some people like to put other things beside just cheese in their grilled cheese sandwiches, which I will say no more about because it's wrong.
