Hip Hop at The (White) House - chicagotribune.com
Indeed, every teacher, young and old, is — or should be — a fuddy-duddy. One of a teacher's prime functions is to draw firm distinctions, to forcefully insist:
- Seinfeld isn't Shakespeare.
- Astrology isn't astronomy.
- A romance novel isn't "Pride and Prejudice."
- Jerry Lewis isn't Aristophanes.
If that sounds elitist, I plead guilty — on behalf of the entire educational enterprise.
