Moby-Duck, new to our book list, is everything its sub-title suggests. It's about how the oceans work and who figured it out, how children's toys are made and sold, what happens to the super freighters and the notes in bottles and tennis shoes that float around the globe and, most of all, it's about a high school teacher from Manhattan who spends a few years chasing rubber duckies on the main. It may not be timeless literature but it's refreshingly good journalism and full of fascinating characters and once-in-a-lifetime adventures, and definitely worth a read.
