My own Pavlovian pitfall involves ringtones. I sort of like the idea of ringtones but the only thing that actually registers on my brain as a ring is, well, a ring. No matter what other sounds I use (and with an iPhone and a Mac it's a snap to make whatever ringtone you want) it just disappears into the background noise. But a ring - hey, who can let a ringing phone ring? Not me.

So, my phone just sounds like a phone.
