I heard the same thing in Vienna in the 50s. Yes, Bunky, that's 1950s, I kid you not. The Russians took the toilet seats when they left. Maybe it's just some Russian custom, like bringing home a t-shirt. Maybe they've been trying to corner the market all these years. Maybe they're just sentimental about 'em.
Or maybe it's only what you say about the Russians when they go. I have no idea.
