Undernews: How to figure the volume of your pizza
James Cordeiro - If a pizza has a radius 'z' and a depth 'a' that pizza's volume can be defined Pi*z*z*a.
Um, I haven't had my coffee yet, but wouldn't it bePi*(Z+Z)*A
Oops. Just had my coffee... it's Z squared.
Which would be pretty much Z*Z, more or less. But hey, we report, you decide. Also caveat emptor. And always drink the coffee first. Before anything. That's our plan and we're sticking to it.
Yep, Having another cup now, just in case I'm called on to think again today. Let's see...the formula assumes a pizza that is perfectly round and has uniformly flat top and bottom surfaces. Also, if it's a pepperoni pizza, do you have to apply the formula to each slice of pepperoni. (Man, on second thought, maybe I should cut BACK on the caffeine...)
Speaking of which - thinking more than once in a day or, alternatively, drinking too much coffee for one's own good - here's a nifty observation on the use of statistics I ran across the other day.Consider:An overwhelming majority of people have more than the average number of legs.
