Deutsche denken an alles,

Ananova - Banned from laughing in woods :
German laugh expert Susanne Maier, who founded the German Laughter Academy which aims to teach serious minded Germans to lighten up, said: “Mr Bahrenfeld has been doing what we advise our students to do and that is to find a place they like to have a good old giggle.

speaking of the woods (wait for this segue) there were an Englishman, a Frenchman, and Italian and a German sitting around one day talking about butterfiles (see?).

the Englishman said calling them "butterflies" was an emminently practical thing to do since, of course, butterflies is what they are.

but the Frenchman said no, the French word is far more poetic: "papillon."

ah, said the Italian, excitedly, but our word is much more musical! "farfalla!"

ya, ya, replied the German. but what could be more accurate than "Schmetterling"?
